Digital revolution

Television in the UK is going digital, bringing us all more choice and new services. From 2008, the UK will switch to digital TV, transmitter by transmitter.With digital TV, sound and pictures from the broadcaster are converted into ‘bits’ of information and sent through an aerial, satellite, telephone line or cable. This digital signal is then turned back into pictures and sound by a digital box or a digital TV set.

Case Study

Millard Consulting was commissioned to provide full structural engineering services for developments in Bishops Stortford, Ipswich and Norwich.

The structures were designed using 3D finite element analysis.

The steel frame elements were designed using 2D frame analysis, linked to a 3D output to AutoCAD. The concrete elements were all detailed using CAD. The combinations of design and detailing provide a comprehensive construction package.
