Introduction
Glenskirlie House Hotel, in Banknock, near Stirling, is home to one of Scotland’s most talked about fine dining restaurants.
Glenskirlie also encompasses a specially designed wedding function suite offering the bridal party a range of first class facilities. Within the grounds of the estate a second wedding venue, Glenskirlie Castle, has been developed.
Services provided included structural, environmental and infrastructure design. Environmental challenges included the remediation of old mine workings, with shafts and tunnels throughout the site.

The existing features required a comprehensive site investigation and a considered piling design.
Heinz Voight, Senior Partner at the Voight Partnership, said that “the siting of the building to have maximum impact whilst avoiding the underlying ground problems, had to be precise and the operations of piling and site works had to be carefully managed”.
