Introduction

The work brief was to undertake a Level 3 Flood Risk Assessment, in accordance with Planning Policy Statement 25 (PPD25), for the redevelopment of the existing Castle Public House and Restaurant into 22 residential units and 73sq metres of retail / office units.

Scope

·           Quantative appraisal of the potential flood risk to the development

·           Quantative appraisal of the potential impact of development site on flood risk elsewhere

·           Quantative demonstration of the effectiveness of any proposed mitigation measures

It was concluded that due to the natural topography, any flood waters would bypass the development site and a submission made to the Environment Agency. Millard Consulting's assessment and propsal to the Environment Agency was subsequently accepted.
