Introduction
In the heart of residential Kensington, within easy reach of Kensington Gardens and Knightsbridge, and with a direct Underground link into the city, Cloucester Park development was centred around Gloucester Park tube station in central London.
The development included an eleven storey block of luxury apartments above a two level basement car park, a five story office block with basement car park and a single storey shopping mall constructed across the station, between the apartments and offices.
Scope
Piled foundations were installed in the island platform and passed between two piccadilly Line tube tunnels to support a line of columns carrying steel plate girders across the railway lines. A composite of precast / insitu contrete slab was constructed on the girders to create the shopping all floor.
Both the shopping mall and the offices were constructed using steel framing and concrete floors. The apartment block was constructed using reinforced contrete frame.
