Introduction
Kinghorn is situated on the south Fife coast, north of Edinburgh. The tannery site is located on the North West side of the town on both sides of the B293 and is bounded by a Grade A burn to the south.
The two sites have very different characteristics; the southern site having been used previously as a munitions storage facility, chicken farm, candle factory and most recently, a leather enabling works.
Scope
Millard Consulting is working with our client, Kinghorn Developments, to transform this brownfield site, providing 148 new homes, in the form of town houses.
Services provided include survey, assessment and design work for:
- asbestos and anthrax
- project management of the demolition and remediation of the existing facility
- soakage potential
- SUDS solutions
- foundations and structural for proposed redevelopment
- drainage and associated infrastructure design
- topographic and building surveys
